Security
In comparison to analogue radio based systems and GSM solutions TETRA systems can’t be eavesdropped by standard radio scanners. The speech is digitalised and TETRA also offers several level of key encryption to achieve secure communication.

Stolen or lost equipment can be barred from the system to make it unusable thus avoiding the possibility of security breaches by using stolen equipment to listen into classified conversations.


Call Type and Call Quality
TETRA benefits from digital voice quality and also provides multiple channels per transceiver, which improves communication immensely. TETRA also offers a wide range of call types from wide area group calls and multiple group calls through to private telephone calls. Calls can be simplex, semi-duplex and full duplex and emergency or priority calls are standard features in a TETRA system thus this solution is better and more flexible than many other mobile solutions.

TETRA also offers selective calling, each user has a unique number, which is an important advantage over analogue radio systems.
