Staff & Lone Worker Protection Systems

Overview

ANT Telecom provides a comprehensive range of lone worker protection solutions. Our applications are suitable to meet customers’ requirements ranging from a single user upwards and across all market environments. These include for example safeguarding personnel working alone in hazardous processing plants, laboratories / offices to healthcare staff visiting their patients at their homes. We can also provide suitable solutions for temporary or contractor workers while on your premises.

The key features of our communications / lone worker schemes are detailed below.

DECT Protection

DECT provides mobile voice communication for both commercial and industrial environments and is an effective medium for handling lone worker and plant process and building management alarm information. Alarms go to the right person or response team wherever they are on site immediately when an event occurs.

Handset users can contact each other, make and receive calls to telephone extensions and external numbers if permitted. Emergency features include push button and / or automatic tilt switch / no motion sensor for man down alarm.

Importantly, DECT can dramatically improve the efficient use of manpower on site.

Paging Protection

The ANT OCP Security Radio Paging System provides radio coverage across the site via its central base station system and effectively integrates a mix of both text and two-way speech pagers. The system also provides a platform for lone worker and site management alarms.

Pagers interface with the on site telephone system and two-way speech handsets can contact each other and make and receive calls to telephone extensions as well as external numbers when given access to the outside network. Speech pagers have emergency features such as push button and / or automatic tilt switch for man down alarm that can be programmed to call an individual or group of handsets or a designated digital display telephone.

GSM S Wide Area Lone Worker Solution

These Lone worker handsets work off the GSM mobile network (O2, Vodafone etc) and therefore no system infrastructure is required. They come with different levels of lone worker protection features including push button, man down tilt and no-motion sensors. The handset user has access to contact up to 2 pre-set numbers e.g. control operator and security and can receive incoming calls.

Central software is available to display all lone worker alarm information and the solution can be developed for off-site lone workers to provide location detection using GPS.

Automated Check Call System

Our automated check call system is designed for lone workers using the company’s existing desktop, DECT, and mobile GSM telephones.

Staff members simply register themselves by dialling the appropriate number. The system recognises their telephone number and prompts them to log on. This process sets up the system to call the worker’s telephone at predefined intervals. The user then confirms his wellbeing by entering a short PIN number using his handset and the system resets. An alarm call is generated if there is no response.

While logged on the lone worker is able to record or amend the voice description of their location and where appropriate postpone the next check call.

When protection is no longer needed the user simply logs off.
